The Ermes joined the Arena Sub fleet to accomplish flexible and reliable operation near the cost, in lakes and in harbours. The boat is is made of fibreglass material and is pre-arranged to equip devices to perform a varety of sea floor mapping missions along the coast. It is often use with geopositiong and navigation systems to accomplish water or seabed sampling in exact points and routes beeing able to transport up to 6 persons.
Other uses are as diving support boat and enviromental research. The boat is indeed registered in the authority lists for oceanographyc services.
